




Machaerina juncea
Common name: Bare Twigrush
The meaning of Machaerina is not known. Juncea is from the Latin word juncus, meaning rush-like.
Reported from across Australia.
The cylindrical, blue-green stems grow to 1.2 metres tall. The 60 millimetre long flowers are brown spikelets to 5 millimetres each. Flowers are borne from October – January.
