Common name: Bearded Speargrass
Austrostipa is from the Latin words austro, meaning southern, and stipa, meaning fibre. Semibarbata is from the Latin words semi, meaning half, and barbatus, meaning bearded.
Occurs across southern parts of Australia.
A tufted perennial to 60 centimetres tall. Flowers appear from August to November.
