Meaning of name:
Argiope is Latin for with bright face and trifasciata is Latin for three-banded.
Distribution:
Found throughout Australia and many parts of the world.
Description:
This spider had a body length of approximately 20 millimetres.
Notes:
Argiope trifasciata tends to build its web close to the ground in tall grass.
We have photographed this species in March, April, June, August and December.
