Camponotus chalceus
Meaning of name:
The meaning of Camponotus is not known. Chalceus is from the Greek words chalkos or khalkos, meaning copper or brass.
Distribution:
This species has been found in the south west of Western Australia and southern parts of South Australia.
Description:
This ant was approximately 10 millimetres long.
Notes:
We have photographed this ant in April.
