Lupinus cosentinii

Meaning of name:

Lupinus is the Latin word for Lupins. Cosentinii is named after Ferdinando Cosentini (1769 – 1840), an Italian professor.

Distribution:

Occurs in the south west of Western Australia. Also occurs in south eastern Australia.

Description:

A herb to 1.4 metres tall. The blue flowers are produced from August to November.

Notes:

This is a commonly cultivated species that is originally from the Mediterranean Region.
