Austrostipa compressa

Meaning of name: Austrostipa is from the Latin words austro, meaning southern, and stipa, meaning fibre. Compressa is from the Latin word compressus, meaning pressed together, compressed or flattened.

Distribution: Found south-west of a line from Geraldton to Bremer Bay.

Description: A grass to 45 centimetres tall, the green flowers are borne from September to December.
