




Typha orientalis
Common name: Bulrush
Typha is from the Greek word typhe, meaning reed-mace. Orientalis is a Latin word meaning pertaining to the east.
Found in the south west of Western Australia. Also found in eastern and northern Australia.
Grows to 4.5 metres tall.
This species was originally thought to be native to the eastern states of Australia but is now considered to also be a native of Western Australia.
