Paspalum dilatatum

Common name: Paspalum

Meaning of name:

Paspalum is from the Greek word paspalos, meaning millet. Dilatatum is from the Latin word dilatatus, meaning enlarged or widened.

Distribution:

Found in moist habitats in the south west of Western Australia. Also found across northern and eastern Australia.

Description:

A tufted grass that grows to 1.5 metres tall.

Notes:

This species is originally from South America.
