Tripterococcus brunonis

Common name: Winged Stackhousia

Meaning of name:

Tripterococcus is from the Greek words tri, meaning three, pter, meaning wing and coccus, meaning fruit. It refers to the fruit having three wings. Brunonis is named after Robert Brown (1773 – 1858), a naturalist on Flinders’ expedition.

Distribution:

Occurs in the southwest of Western Australia.

Description:

A perennial herb to 50 centimetres tall. The yellowish green flowers are produced from August to November.
