Meaning of name: Lobelia is named in honour of Mstthias de l’Obel (1538 – 1616), a Flemish botanist and physician to King James 1 of England. Tenuior is a Latin word meaning thinner, narrower or more delicate.
Distribution: Occurs from Gingin to Bow River.
Remarks: A herb to 50 centimetres tall. The blue flowers are produced from October to January.
