Xanthosia huegeliiCommon name: Heath Xanthosia
Meaning of name: Xanthosia is from the Greek word xanthos meaning yellow. It refers to the colour of the hairs found on some species. Huegelii honours Carl Alexander Anselm, Baron von Hugel (1796 – 1870), an Austrian traveler and naturalist who visited the Swan River and King George Sound in 1833.
Distribution: Occurs from Bullsbrook to west of Esperance.
Description: An erect or spreading herb to 30 centimetres tall. The flowers are produced from August to November.
