Orobanche minor
Common name: Lesser Broomrape
Orobanche is from the Greek words orobos, meaning vetch, and agcho, meaning to strangle. Minor is a Latin word meaning smaller.
Occurs in the southwest of Western Australia. Also occurs in south eastern Australia.
A parasitic herb up to 50 centimetres tall. The purplish flowers are produced from August to November.
This species is originally from Europe.
