



Lolium perenne
Common name: Perennial Ryegrass
Lolium is Latin for darnel, a weed that grows among corn. Perenne is from the Latin word perennis, meaning perennial, that which lasts the whole year through.
Occurs across much of southern Australia.
A tufted perennial to 90 centimetres tall. The flowers are produced from September to December.
This species is originally from Europe, North Africa and temperate Asia.
