Lamprima aurata
Common name: Golden Stag Beetle
Unknown.
Found across the southern and eastern parts of Australia.
This beetle was approximately 25 millimetres long.
We have photographed this beetle in December.
The Western Australian population of beetles was previously thought to be a separate species, Lamprima micardi. However, a revision of the genus in 2018 established that it is actually Lamprima aurata.
