Gazania linearis

Common name: Gazania

Meaning of name:

Gazania is named after Theodorus Gaza (1398 – 1478), a Greek scholar and translator. Linearis is Latin for linear.

Distribution:

Found across much of southern Australia.

Description:

A clumping plant to 30 centimetres tall. The yellow, red or orange flowers are produced from June to December.

This plant is originally from South Africa.
