Diuris magnifica
Common name: Pansy Orchid
Meaning of name:
Diuris is from the Greek words dis, meaning double, and oura, meaning tail, referring to the two hanging lateral sepals. Magnifica is from the Latin magnificus, meaning splendid or magnificent.
Distribution:
Occurs in a narrow strip close to the coast between Lancelin and Bunbury.
Description:
Colourful Donkey Orchid flowers of yellow, orange and purple. The flowers are held up to 60 centimetres high from August to October.
