Chondrilla juncea

Common name: Skeleton Weed

Meaning of name:

Chondrilla is the name given to this genus. Juncea is from the Latin word junceus meaning rush-like.

Distribution:

Occurs in the south west of Western Australia. Also recorded from the south east of Australia.

Description:

A plant to 1 metre tall. The yellow flowers are mainly produced in summer (December – February) but can occur throughout the year.

Notes:

This plant is originally from Europe and the Mediterranean region.

Skeleton Weed is a declared plant and needs to be removed.
