Caladenia paludosa
Common name: Swamp Spider Orchid
Caladenia is from the Greek words calos, meaning beautiful, and aden meaning gland. Some species of Caladenia have coloured glands at the base of the column. The column is an organ combining the stamens and style of the flower. Paludosa is from the Latin paludosus, meaning boggy or marshy. This plant can be found in winter-wet soils.
Found in winter-wet soils between Gingin and Gracetown.
A single leaf to 30 centimetres long beneath flowers on stems to 50 centimetres.
