Gilbert’s HoneyeaterScientific name: Melithreptus chloropsis

Meaning of name: Melithreptus is from the Greek words meli, meaning honey, and threptos, meaning nourished. The meaning of chloropsis is not known.

Aboriginal name: Djinki (cheen’key).

Distribution: Found in the southwest of Western Australia.

Description: Up to 15.5 centimetres long with a 23.5 centimetre wingspan.

Notes: The photographs for this species were not taken in the reserves of interest to the FQPB.
