Urospermum picroidesCommon name: False Hawkbit

Meaning of name: Urospermum is from the Greek words oura, meaning tail, and sperma, meaning seed. Picroides is named after the genus Picris with the suffix –oides, meaning like.

Distribution: This plant grows in disturbed areas from Shark Bay to Perth and inland to Perenjori.

Remarks: A herb to 1.2 metres tall with yellow flowers in October and November. This plant is a native of the Mediterranean.
