Meaning of name: Tricoryne is from the Greek words treis, meaning three, and costula, meaning small rib, referring to the nut which is 3-ribbed. Elatior is a Latin word meaning taller.

Distribution: Widespread across Western Australia.

Description: Slender stems to 50 centimetres long are held erect or, more usually, lie on the ground. Yellow flowers, up to 25 millimetres in diameter, are produced from September to February.
