Meaning of name: Pterostylis comes from the Greek words pteron, meaning wing, and stylos, meaning pillar, referring to the winged column. The column is an organ combining the stamens and style of the flower. Recurva is from the Latin word recurvus, meaning backwards.
Distribution: Widespread throughout the Southwest from Geraldton to Israelite Bay.
Description: Up to 4 flowers are held up to 60cm high between August and October.
