Paraoxypilus laticollis (female)Common name: Praying Mantis

Meaning of name: Unknown.

Distribution: This species is found across southern parts of Australia.

Remarks: It is usually only the males in this genus that are fully winged. 

The females were approximately 20 millimetres long. The males are a little longer.

We have photographed this species in April, October and November.
