Meaning of name: Melilotus is from the Greek word melilotos, a clover so named from the amount of honey it bore; from meli honey. Indicus is a Latin word meaning Indian; also applied to anywhere in the Far East.
Distribution: Occurs from Kalbarri to Esperance.
Remarks: A herb to 50 centimetres tall. The yellow flowers are produced from August to October. This plant is a native of the Mediterranean Region.
