Lamprima aurata

Meaning of name: Unknown.

Distribution: Found across the southern parts of Australia.

Remarks: This beetle was approximately 25 millimetres long.

We have photographed this beetle in December.

The Western Australian population of beetles was previously thought to be a separate species, Lamprima micardi. However, a revision of the genus in 2018 established that it is actually Lamprima aurata.
