Meaning of name: Unknown.

Distribution: Occurs throughout Australia.

Description: The male is substantially red, with blue markings on the end of the abdomen.

Notes: The larvae inhabit still and sluggish waters, including temporary ponds.

We have photographed this species in December and February.
