Hakea varia

Meaning of name: Hakea is named after Christian Ludwig, Baron von Hake (1745 – 1818), German patron of botany. Varia is from the Latin word varius, meaning variable. It refers to the variable shape of the leaves.

Distribution: Occurs from Perth to Cape Arid National Park.

Remarks: A shrub or small tree to 4 metres tall. The white flowers are produced from July to October.
