Meaning of name: Gomphocarpus is from the Greek words gomphos, meaning club, and carpos, meaning fruit. Fruticosus is Latin for bushy.
Distribution: Can be found on moist, disturbed sites from Perth to Busselton.
Remarks: This plant grows to 2 metres tall and has white flowers from November to April. It is a native of South Africa and is a declared plant. This means that it is required by law to be controlled.
