Meaning of name: Nambungia refers to where the first specimen of this species was found – Nambung River National Park. The meaning of balyarta is not known.

Distribution: This species is known from the southwest of Western Australia.

Remarks: This cricket had a body length of approximately 7 millimetres. The adult was seen in February while the juvenile was seen in December.
