Striated Pardalotes are nesting again
Striated Pardalotes, Pardalotus striatus, have started nesting again in the hole in the culvert near Welshpool Rd in Black Creek Reserve. On Saturday, 3 September 2011, two birds were seen taking dry grass into the hole. The following day both birds entered the hole together and the sounds that followed led us to believe that they were mating. It is hoped that by the end of the month there will be chicks and we’ll be able to see the parents delivering food to the hole.
