Meaning of name: The meaning of Babiana is unknown. Angustifolia is from the Latin words angustus, meaning narrow, and folium, meaning leaf.

Distribution: It is found on the Swan Coastal Plain from Gingin southwards.

Remarks: This plant can for dense clumps with flowering stems up to 40 centimetres high. The flowers are all shades from white, through lilac to deep violet and produced from August to October. Native to South Africa.
