Eriophora pustulosaCommon name: Knobbled Orbweaver

Meaning of name: The name pustulosa means knobbled.

Distribution: Widespread across most of southern Australia.

Remarks: Its pattern varies in colour from greys, black, white, browns and oranges, often mottled. It has several obvious knobs on its back, or upper surface of the abdomen, usually five at the rear end near the spinnerets.

Females have a body length of approximately 15 millimetres, males about 8 millimetres.

We have seen this spider in July, August and September.
