Meaning of name: Unknown.

Distribution: Metaballus sp, the Marauding Katydids, are found in coastal areas of southern Australia.

Description: This katydid had a body length of approximately 5 centimetres.

Notes: Marauding katydids eat other insects and will eat flowers. There are ten species in the Metaballus genus and they are difficult to identify without dissection.

This katydid was seen in December.
