Meaning of name: The meaning of Euzosteria is not known. Sub- is Latin for somewhat, verrucosus is Latin for covered with warts. This possibly refers to the texture of the back of the Cockroach.

Remarks: Several species of Euzosteria are adapted to arid conditions.
